Software and Web Developer

E-mail: doqunbop@gmail.com

Originally from Latvia, I have lived in Sweden since 2006.
My biggest passion is computer games. I've wanted to create my own big computer game since around year 2000, after I had played Runescape - my first MMO experience.
It was this passion combined with the ease to understand mathematics, which allowed me to learn the programming mostly on my own, using only internet and a book or two.
Fascination with the World Wide Web led me to learning HTML, CSS and PHP and later on to MySQL and JavaScript. These are still the tools I feel most comfortable with.
Since then I have strengthened and advanced my programming knowledge through education and work.
My close-term plans include finding a job I enjoy, finishing the degree paper and continuing with game development and livestreaming during my free time.

Portfolio

2014: Improve Yourself In Voluntary Work

2014: Root Force

2013: Towards The Sky

A browser-based game in development. Utilizes JavaScript for clientside processing and C++ for serverside.
Based on 2D graphics with a steampunk style with elements of more medieval fantasy, the game plays out in an interactive hexa-grid based world.
The game resolves around completing tasks for NPCs or just exploring - trying to find treasures or gathering resources. Greater risks bring greater rewards - players wandering outside of safe zones will be able to find better resources and NPCs willing to give more lucrative rewards; although doing so would leave them vulnerable to monsters and other players.

2012: Pacman Reloaded

A remake of Pacman with a twist. Made as a part of a course at BTH.
Watch gameplay (missing sound, it would have had the amazing PacMan wakka-wakka sound).

2012: Dark Velocity

A Blur, Mario Kart and sci-fi inspired racing game prototype with three dimensions of movement freedom. Developed as a part of a course at BTH.
Watch gameplay

2009: EkoWes Website

A complete website with webdesign and a simple CMS. Utilizes HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, PHP and MySQL.

2009: Sannamarken Fair Booking Websystem

An online booking system for the annual Sannamarken Fair. Utilizes a mix of PHP, SQLite, HTML, JavaScript, CSS and AJAX to solve the client's specifications.
This system has been further developed by other developers and is visitable here.
